Cape Town Venues
Yoga & Pilates
Every studio in this collection sells a single class, so a visitor never has to buy a month to practise for an hour. Eight of the eighteen teach both yoga and Pilates in the same building, and a few add a sauna, a cold plunge or a fourteen-day pass written for somebody passing through.
A drop-in class is the easiest thing to buy in Cape Town wellness. Every studio here sells one, which means a visitor can walk into a room in Sea Point on a Tuesday and a room in Stellenbosch on a Thursday without explaining themselves to anybody.
The rooms are not interchangeable. A Gardens studio teaches reformer Pilates in groups of four. A Green Point club pairs a heated room with a sauna and a cold plunge and sells the two sides separately. A rooftop above Bree Street sells the day rather than the class, so the pool and the terraces come with it. Eight of the eighteen teach both disciplines, so the choice is often about the room rather than the label.
Several sell a two-week travellers pass alongside the single class, which is usually the better buy for anyone here longer than a weekend.
