Explore Cape Town
Adventure & Adrenaline
From a 112 metre abseil off Table Mountain to the dunes at Atlantis and an indoor wall when the wind shuts everything else down.

Cape Town packs a lot of vertical and a lot of coast into a small area, which is why so much of this is within an hour of the city. The mountain, the dunes on the West Coast and the reserves behind the Hottentots Holland all carry something.
The thing worth planning around is wind. The south-easter closes the cableway, shuts crags, grounds rooftop rides and fills the dunes with flying sand, and it builds through summer afternoons. Each record below says what actually stops it, and which of these still run when the weather turns.
