Tandem paragliding from Signal Hill or Lion’s Head, chosen on the day for the wind. No experience is needed, the pilot does the flying, and all you do is run a few steps off the edge.
You are clipped to a pilot and a wing, you run a few steps down a slope, and the ground stops being underneath you. That is the whole technique required.
Launch is from Signal Hill or Lion’s Head, chosen on the day for the wind, and the flight runs down over the city towards the Atlantic. Pilots fly under SAHPA tandem licences and bring the wing, harness, helmet and reserve.
Time in the air depends entirely on conditions and is not promised in advance. Flying needs the right wind direction and strength, so the flight is confirmed on the day rather than fixed weeks ahead.
