Guided outdoor climbing on Table Mountain and around the Cape Peninsula. The guide brings the rope work and the equipment and picks a route to match you, from a first climb to multi-pitch trad.
Table Mountain is a climbing venue as much as a view. The sandstone above the city carries everything from short sport routes to long trad lines that top out near the cable station, and the rest of the Peninsula adds crags of its own.
A guided day starts with the guide picking a crag to suit your ability and the wind, then setting up the ropes. Climbing shoes, a helmet and a harness are supplied. Beginners climb on a top rope from the first pitch, experienced climbers can be taken onto harder single-pitch or multi-pitch routes, and instructional courses run for people who want the skills rather than the day out.
Groups are small, often one or two climbers to a guide. Which crag works on a given day is decided by the weather, so the plan tends to be settled close to the date.
