Cape Town Collections
Cape Town only really makes sense from above, and the peninsula offers an unusual number of ways to get there, by cable car, by car, or on foot.
Almost everyone who comes to Cape Town ends up looking for the same thing, which is somewhere to stand and see how the city fits together. The mountain, the two coastlines and the bowl of the centre are difficult to read from street level and obvious from height, and the peninsula is unusually generous with places to gain it.
The useful question is not which viewpoint is best, but how much effort you want to spend and what the weather is doing. Some are a cable car ride or a short drive from the centre; others are a proper walk with the reward at the end. Start with the three below, then browse the rest of the collection.
