Overview
Morgenster Estate lies beneath the Helderberg in Somerset West, bringing together Bordeaux-inspired wines, Italian grape varieties, acclaimed extra virgin olive oil and authentic Italian dining.
The contemporary tasting room and restaurant overlook a dam, wetlands and mountain slopes. Only part of the 200-hectare estate is planted to vines and olive trees, leaving generous space for nature.
A Cape and Italian Legacy
Founder Giulio Bertrand established Morgenster’s Italian character through a dedication to olive cultivation and a wine portfolio that spans classic Bordeaux varieties and Italian cultivars. That dual heritage remains central to the estate experience.
Wine and Olive Oil
Visitors can explore Bordeaux-style blends, single-varietal wines and The Giulio Range alongside the estate’s extra virgin olive oils. Tastings range from focused wine flights to combined olive and wine experiences.
The Restaurant at Morgenster
The restaurant celebrates traditional Italian recipes, simple seasonal ingredients and Morgenster wines. Its waterside setting makes lunch or dinner a natural extension of an estate tasting.
Visiting the Estate
The tasting room opens seven days a week, with shorter hours on Sunday. Book ahead for The Giulio Experience, restaurant tables and weekend visits, then allow time to enjoy the wetlands and Helderberg views.
