A sunrise flight over the Cape Winelands, lifting off from farmland as the light comes up. Flights go only when the air is still, so send us a few possible dates and we arrange it.
A balloon flight is the calmest way to see the Winelands. You lift off at first light from farmland among the vineyards, and the valley comes up slowly underneath you, vine rows and olive groves with the mountains standing behind them and Table Mountain often visible in the distance.
The morning starts in the dark. The crew lay the envelope out and inflate it under torchlight while you watch, which is a good part of the experience in itself.
Balloons drift rather than steer, so the wind decides the route on the morning and the landing spot is different every time. How long you fly, where you launch from and what the morning includes are settled when we confirm the flight.
Weather decides everything. The air has to be close to still at ground level, so flights are often rescheduled at short notice. Give us more than one possible morning when you enquire, rather than pinning it to your last day in the Cape.
