A private scenic flight along the Cape Peninsula with Africa Sky Runners, flown in a Cessna from Stellenbosch or a Cape Town airfield, with the pilot talking you through what is below.
The Peninsula is the kind of landscape that only really makes sense from above. The route runs out over Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles, down the Atlantic side past Clifton and Camps Bay, on to the lighthouse at Cape Point, then back across False Bay and the Constantia valley.
You fly in a Cessna, a high-winged aircraft that keeps the view open below you, with the pilot on the intercom talking through what you are looking at. It is a private flight rather than a seat on a shared tour, so the aircraft is yours and the commentary is aimed at your group.
Three guests are needed for a flight to go ahead, though two can fly with a surcharge, and up to ten travel across two aircraft. Weight limits apply and are worth raising when you book. Whether you fly at all on a given day comes down to the weather.
