A guided day down the Cape Peninsula is the simplest way to reach the far end of it without driving yourself. Send us your dates and group size and we arrange the tour around them.
The peninsula runs south from the city and ends in a cliff-backed point where two coastlines meet. A day tour follows that shape, out along one coast, down to the tip, and back up the other side. It is a landscape day rather than a museum day, and most of it is spent at viewpoints and on the road between them.
The day is usually built around the Atlantic coast road and Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout Bay, the Cape Point section of Table Mountain National Park, and the penguin colony on the False Bay side. Which of these you see, and in what order, depends on the tour we confirm for you. Some routes run the loop in reverse, and some trade one stop for longer at another.
Private and shared vehicles are both possible, as are shorter routes that concentrate on the southern end rather than the whole loop. Entrance fees to the reserve, lunch and hotel pick-up can be built in or left out, depending on how you want the day to run.
