Axe-O is Cape Town’s indoor axe-throwing lounge, in The Spice Yard on Voortrekker Road in Salt River. Coached sessions run two hours, seven days a week, for anything from a pair to a corporate group.
Axe throwing is simpler than it looks and harder than it sounds. A coach takes you through grip, stance and release, and then you spend the rest of the session on the lane trying to make the stick repeatable.
Sessions run two hours. Bookings cover single throwers and pairs through to group bookings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate events and team building, with kids’ parties at weekends.
The lounge is in The Spice Yard on Voortrekker Road in Salt River, about ten minutes from the city centre, with a rum distillery and a pub in the same complex.
