Aquila sits about a hundred and seventy kilometres from Cape Town, near Touws River, and the day trip is the main business rather than an afterthought. The reserve sells its own half day and full day safaris, from an early morning drive through to a full day that pairs a game drive with lunch and free time, and there are versions on horseback and on quad bikes. Transfers are Aquila's own, shared or private, with pickups from the Atlantic seaboard and the city between quarter to six and quarter to seven in the morning. Nobody gets through the gate without a confirmed booking.
