Situated on the lower slopes of the Helderberg Mountains in Stellenbosch, Rust en Vrede Wine Estate is one of South Africa’s most respected red wine producers. Established in 1694, it has earned an international reputation for exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Bordeaux-style blends, as well as its world-renowned fine dining restaurant.
Unlike many estates that produce a wide range of grape varieties, Rust en Vrede has dedicated itself almost exclusively to premium red wines. Combined with more than 330 years of history, elegant Cape Dutch architecture and one of Stellenbosch’s finest restaurants, it offers a truly world-class wine experience.
A Red Wine Specialist
Since 1977 Rust en Vrede has focused almost exclusively on Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot, making it one of South Africa’s few specialist red wine estates. Its Estate Syrah was selected as one of Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines in the World.
