Royal Cape provides a public visitor tee sheet alongside a separate members’ login. If the tee sheet shows no times or returns an error, contact reception.

The course
Royal Cape describes its par-72 course as a classic parkland layout on flat terrain, with tree-lined narrow fairways, subtle greens built to USGA specification, water features and a near-constant wind.
Established in 1885, the club says it has hosted ten South African Opens and has been home to the Cape Town Open since 2012. Its published winners list includes Gary Player, Ernie Els, Mark McNulty and Trevor Immelman.
Playing Royal Cape Golf Club as a visitor
The booking page has a public Visitors panel and a separate Members panel. The members’ panel asks for an SA ID or passport number and a password; the visitor tee sheet does not.
The club publishes separate affiliated, weekend affiliated, non-affiliated and student green-fee categories for nine and eighteen holes. Do not assume that an overseas handicap qualifies for an affiliated rate; confirm eligibility with the club. No visitor-day restriction or handicap requirement is stated on the club pages reviewed, so confirm any playing requirements when booking.
Hire and practice
The club says electric carts, pull trolleys and clubs are available to hire through the pro shop.
Royal Cape also links to an indoor hi-Tee practice and play facility with a launch monitor, available to members and visitors.
