Relaxed breakfast and lunch high on the Helshoogte pass, with a deli counter, valley views and an outdoor play area. The easy family option among the estate restaurants.
The Delicatessen is the relaxed half of Tokara. While the main restaurant serves tasting menus upstairs, the deli sits lower on the Helshoogte slope with much the same view across the valley and none of the ceremony — breakfast from nine, lunch until half past three, and a counter of things to take home.
It is also the easiest of the estate restaurants to visit with children: there is an outdoor play area with a jungle gym, and nobody minds. Open seven days, which makes it a dependable stop on a wine-farm morning when everything else needs booking.
