Traditional French bistro cooking at Glenelly in Ida's Valley, on a weekly changing menu, with terrace views across fynbos gardens and vine-clad slopes. A quieter alternative to the big estate dining rooms.
Glenelly sits in Ida’s Valley, a few minutes off the main road and quiet enough that most visitors never find it. Chef-patron Christophe Dehosse cooks the traditional bistro food of his native France — confit pork cheeks, springbok loin, a proper bouillabaisse — on a menu that changes every week.
Parisian café tables, a terrace looking across fynbos gardens to vine-clad slopes, and a wine list drawn from the estate’s own cellar. Lunch runs Tuesday to Sunday; dinner is Friday and Saturday only. Leave room for the opera cake or the cheese board.
