Every booking route here runs through the club’s phone line. The website carries Book Now buttons, but there is no booking engine behind them and no tee sheet to look at, so a round starts with a call.
The club also publishes no standard green fee tariff. What it publishes is a set of weekday and student specials, all excluding public holidays, so ask for the ordinary visitor rate when you phone.

The course
The club began play in 1958 as the Welgemoed Golf Club, on nine holes, and the course still sits in the same valley in the northern suburbs. Three tee sets are published in metres: white at 5,814, blue at 5,304 and red at 4,953. Fairways are kikuyu, greens American creeping bent, and the club counts five water holes.
Short to moderate in length by modern standards, on hilly ground. The club was originally founded as Welgemoed Golf Club.
Playing Bellville Golf Club as a visitor
The club’s rules put it plainly: all players must register and pay green fees before teeing off, members should book in advance, and visitors may book subject to availability. No membership, introduction or handicap is needed.
The dress code is published in full and is not decorative. Collared shirts or golf tops, golf trousers, shorts or skirts with no jeans, joggers or denim, golf shoes or soft spikes on the course, caps worn peak forward, and smart casual in the clubhouse.
What is on site
There is a driving range and a putting green, a pro shop, a halfway house running from eight to four, and a bar open from eleven in the morning until midnight.
Course hours are half past six to six on weekdays, six to five on Saturdays and six to four on Sundays. Public holiday hours vary, so call ahead.
