Cape Town’s stages run from a provincial arts complex on the Foreshore to an independent arthouse cinema that has been showing films on Orange Street since 1949.
None of these venues keeps opening hours in the ordinary sense. They work to a programme, published weeks or months ahead, and the building is open when something is on. That is the first thing to know when planning around them: check what is playing before you plan the evening, not the other way round.
Ticketing is the second. Between them these venues sell through several different authorised agents, and at least one publishes a standing warning about fraudulent sellers. Start from the venue’s own page for the production you want and follow the link it gives you, rather than buying from a search result.
