Baxter Theatre Centre

A university theatre centre running several stages at once.

Drama, dance, comedy and classical music, often with more than one show on in the same week.

The Baxter opened on 1 August 1977 and belongs to the University of Cape Town. Five spaces run alongside each other — the Pam Golding Theatre, a concert hall, the Baxter Studio, and the smaller Masambe and Flipside rooms.

It produces as well as receives, and the Zabalaza festival and the Morning Melodies series sit alongside the main programme.

There is a restaurant on site. No general opening hours are published; the building works to whatever is on stage.
