Stellenbosch takes a visitor booking as a request rather than a confirmed tee time. The guest booking form asks for your date, preferred time and number of players, and the club comes back to you. There is no public tee sheet and no availability shown, so leave lead time.
Green fees swing hard with the season. The published card pairs a summer and a winter rate for every visitor category, and the summer non-affiliated rate runs close to three times the winter one. The card does not say where summer ends and winter begins, so it is worth asking which band applies to your date.

The course
Eighteen holes, par 72, at the foot of the Helderberg on the edge of Stellenbosch town. The club describes a parklands course meandering through the large trees that frame most holes, where every hole seems distinct and memorable. Vineyards border some holes and the rest open onto mountains and the town.
It started as nine holes and converted to the present eighteen in 1953. Four tee sets are marked, yellow, white, blue and red. The club names no designer.
Playing Stellenbosch Golf Club as a visitor
The guest booking form takes a name, contact details, date, requested time and number of players, and needs no account to submit.
Green fees are published with separate affiliated and non-affiliated visitor rows, alongside member’s guest, student, scholar, PGA professional and reciprocity rates, each split into eighteen and nine holes.
The club hosted the Investec South African Open at the end of February 2026, won by Casey Jarvis, and the championship returns here from 4 to 7 March 2027 for a second year running. The club publishes no visitor access notice around those dates, so it is worth checking before you travel for a round in early March.
Practice, hire and what is on site
The practice facility near the clubhouse is open to the public, not only to players, and carries a driving range, chipping and putting greens, a coaching studio and a refreshment kiosk. Ball flight is capped at 220 metres for safety, because tee boxes lie beyond the far end.
Caddies, rental sets, visitor carts and pull trolleys are all priced in the pro shop table on the fees page. Four PGA professionals work on site, one of them German-speaking, and the clubhouse restaurant has a raised balcony over the course.
